So everyone has sex on their birthday, right? Apparently, not if you are a parent. My little girl has been sick, with a fever and sore throat, poor thing. It has been miserable. She wore her mother out this past week, with her crankiness. She can be a hand full when she is not feeling well. Sleep is our friend. It allows her to rest/feel better and gives mama and papa some time alone.
Even after the baby was sleeping soundly in her bed, the thrill was gone. I came home with a gift box of toys from Babeland, but it sat on the table, as we both sat on the coach, just enjoying the moment of rest and down time. In the end the toys didn't even make it out of the box.
Parents lets have a mature, but candid conversation about sex. By sharing our thoughts, stories and ideas I think we can all learn from one another. No one should walk away thinking this is professional advice. Just comments from other parents trying to keep their sex lives alive.

"3 minutes Everlyn"
On Vanderbilt Ave, in Brooklyn NY, there is a car service called Everlyn. Every time and any time we call for a car and ask the dispatcher, "How long until the car gets here?", the guy would answer, before we are even completed the sentences, "3minutes." in a quick, mumble voice.
My partner and I have started using the phrase to signal that we would like to share some intimate time together. Well she started saying it and then I kept using, so now we both use it freely.
The phrase "3 minutes" is appropriate for us, because our little girl (2yrs.) seems to wake up from her nap within 3 min after we started the horizontal shuffle. Causing us to scrabble before she walks in on us while we are still connected as one. We figured we are not ready to explain to her exactly what Mama and Papa are doing yet.
We would love to just let some random touch turn into an intimate moment, as they say in the Viagra commercials, but we do not have the luxury as parents, because, well we are parents, with a child to look after.
We have only had a few nights or afternoons during daycare hours, when we have gone out together with out the baby. We love our child, but we are convinced she is intentionally cock blocking her parents "3 minutes" of fun.
Any suggestions of what we can do to keep our sex spicy? If only for 3 minutes.
